Information Security Analyst IV / Senior Forensic Specialist
Location: San Diego, CA
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (some weeks fully remote, some weeks up to 2 days onsite in San Diego)
Job Type: Contract (2‑year term, strong conversion potential)
Position Overview
The Senior Forensic Specialist is a critical role responsible for conducting digital forensic investigations in support of Legal and Human Resources functions. This individual will ensure the secure, timely, and accurate collection, analysis, and documentation of sensitive employee data across platforms such as Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
The role supports internal investigations involving intellectual property theft, workplace harassment, fraud, insider threats, and performance‑related matters, producing detailed, defensible reports to support business and legal decision‑making.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 7 years of demonstrated experience in:
- Digital forensics
- Insider threat / insider trust investigations
- Cybersecurity investigations
Required Certifications (one of the following):
- Certified Forensic Investigator (CFI)
- Certified Insider Specialist (CIS)
Strong ability to:
- Analyze and investigate insider threat activity
- Create clear, professional forensic reports
- Ensure compliance throughout investigatory processes
