Job Title: Dental Assisting (EFDA) Program Clinical Coordinator

Job Summary

The Dental Assisting (EFDA) Program Clinical Coordinator is a full-time, 12-month faculty position responsible for the comprehensive oversight of both the educational and clinical components of the EFDA program. This role ensures high-quality instruction through adherence to state board requirements, continuous enhancement of didactic and clinical teaching, and implementation of effective instructional strategies that support student learning and program success.

The Coordinator maintains program standards by ensuring compliance with American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) guidelines, managing all aspects of clinical rotations, and providing academic mentorship to students. This position plays a critical role in sustaining program excellence, operational efficiency, and positive student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative & Compliance Oversight

Didactic & Clinical Instruction

Clinical Supervision & Operations

• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Evaluate student performance, maintain accurate clinical records, and conduct regular competency reviews.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Licensure

• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Bachelor’s degree required.
• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Master’s degree in Education, Health Science, or related field preferred.
• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from an accredited institution may be considered in lieu of a master’s degree.
• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Active EFDA license or valid dentist license (DDS/DMD).
  
  

Certifications

• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) through DANB (preferred or required based on state guidelines).

Experience & Skills

• p]:pt-0 [&>p]:mb-2 [&>p]:my-0"> Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as an EFDA or practicing dentist.
