Position Overview
As a CRNA, you will play a critical role in delivering safe, effective anesthesia care across a wide range of procedures. You will be responsible for patient assessment, anesthesia administration, monitoring, and post-procedural care while ensuring adherence to the highest clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Anesthesia Delivery & Patient Care
- Provide anesthesia services across surgical, obstetric, and procedural settings
- Administer general anesthesia and manage patient sedation levels appropriately
- Maintain continuous monitoring of patient vital signs and physiological status during procedures
- Establish and manage airways using appropriate techniques (e.g., mask, LMA, intubation)
- Respond promptly to airway or respiratory complications, including secretion management
- Support patient transitions from procedure rooms to recovery areas
- Conduct thorough pre-operative and post-operative patient evaluations
- Manage acute pain and ensure patient comfort throughout the care continuum
Clinical Preparation & Equipment Management
- Prepare and verify all medications, anesthesia supplies, and equipment prior to procedures
- Inspect and test anesthesia machines and gas delivery systems to ensure proper functionality
- Review patient histories to evaluate anesthesia risks and collaborate with physicians on high-risk cases
- Ensure appropriate blood products and emergency resources are available when needed
- Monitor and maintain all clinical equipment, reporting any malfunctions or service needs
Compliance & Quality Standards
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including CMS, Joint Commission, and OSHA guidelines
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
- Follow all organizational policies, safety protocols, and clinical best practices
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Documentation & Systems Use
- Accurately document patient care, assessments, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Complete required documentation related to anesthesia services and billing
- Ensure all records reflect timely and accurate clinical information
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Communicate effectively during shift handoffs and patient transitions
- Identify changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
Safety & Infection Control
- Administer medications and treatments safely, following proper protocols and patient identification procedures
- Utilize safe patient handling techniques to prevent injury
- Follow infection control standards, including proper use of PPE and isolation procedures
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of medications, sharps, and hazardous materials
Qualifications
- Active CRNA certification and applicable state licensure
- Strong clinical experience in anesthesia administration and patient monitoring
- Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment
- Experience with EMR systems and clinical documentation
