Job Title: Avionics Technician II

Location: Kent, WA

Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Duration: 7 Months (Potential for Extension/Conversion)

Pay: $40/hr. on W2

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Avionics Technician II to support engineering, production, and manufacturing operations by performing testing, assembly, modification, and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical and avionics systems. This role involves working in both laboratory and production environments, contributing to the development and production of high-reliability systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assembly, integration, and testing of electrical and mechanical components and systems.
• Build and support development, test, and production hardware across multiple programs.
• Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, work instructions, and engineering documentation.
• Conduct functional testing, fault isolation, and troubleshooting on avionics and electrical systems.
• Assemble and install wiring harnesses, cable systems, and associated components.
• Apply torque to fasteners and ensure compliance with mechanical specifications.
• Support production improvement initiatives by collaborating with engineering teams.
• Inspect and certify completed work to ensure compliance with required standards and specifications.
• Work across lab and manufacturing floor environments based on project needs.
• Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and workmanship.

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in aerospace avionics or related technical field.
• Experience with electro-mechanical assembly, wiring, and system integration.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Wire harness fabrication, termination, and testing
• Soldering and electronics assembly tools
• Basic test equipment (e.g., multimeters, power supplies)
• Familiarity with electrostatic discharge (ESD) controlled environments and tool accountability.
• Experience inspecting and verifying work against engineering specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5–7 years of relevant experience in avionics, aerospace, or high-reliability manufacturing environments.
• Experience with:
• PCBA/CCA repair, board-level assembly, or component-level troubleshooting
• High-voltage, RF, or battery systems
• Polymerics such as staking, potting, encapsulation, and conformal coating
• Knowledge of industry standards such as IPC, J-STD, 610, 620, or rework standards (7711/7721).
• Experience with electronic work instructions, configuration management systems, and MS Office tools.
• Experience documenting non-conformances and performing corrective actions.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work performed in laboratory and manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to production equipment, electrical systems, and assembly processes.
• Ability to stand, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
• Occasional overtime may be required based on production schedules.
