Patient Services Representative

Location: Lake Success, NY

Schedule: Monday–Friday (Tuesday 11 AM–7 PM) 2 weekend shifts per month

Rate: Starting at $18.00/hourly

Primary Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, family members, and guests with a friendly, professional demeanor
• Assist patients with check-in and registration
• Accurately enter and scan patient demographic and insurance information into Epic
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; communicate coverage details to patients
• Collect co-payments and outstanding balances
• Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously; route calls and take messages as needed
• Support physicians and clinical staff by coordinating follow-up care, scheduling referrals, and obtaining authorizations for diagnostic testing
• Send patient records to primary care providers
• Perform additional administrative tasks as assigned
  
  

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong customer service skills and solid computer proficiency
• Ability to work a flexible schedule (practice open 5 days per week; 2 scheduled days off)
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or completion of some college coursework
• Experience with Epic
• Prior medical office or urgent care experience
• Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans
