About the Role:

We’re looking for an “A” player to fill the role of Pastor of Ministry/Assimilation & Teaching Pastor.

This role is perfect for an energetic, upbeat person who wants to grow as a pastor, leader and teacher while working hard alongside the smart and friendly staff at The Journey to reach South Florida for Jesus.

The Pastor of Ministry & Assimilation plays one of the most strategic leadership roles at The Journey.

  • You'll oversee the systems that help people move from first-time guests to fully engaged members while building healthy volunteer teams that make ministry happen every week.
  • You'll also serve as a teaching pastor—communicating from the stage, helping shape weekend services, and developing as part of our teaching team.

This is an incredible opportunity for someone who wants to grow into greater leadership responsibilities while making a lasting Kingdom impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Assimilation and Ministry:

  • Leadership, growth and innovation of The Journey’s ministry and volunteer systems – with the goal of getting 50% of Sunday attendance involved in meaningful ministry on a weekly basis. This includes our Sunday Welcome Team and our Office Volunteers Teams.
  • Leading The Journey's Assimilation System in moving first time guests to becoming fully developing members. This includes the Sunday experience, follow-up to first time guests and next step decisions, new believer follow-up and care, leading people to take the step of baptism and then to attend Membership Class and beyond.
  • Requires the ability to lead teams effectively, to raise up new leaders at a rapid rate and to communicate/teach.

Teaching:

  • The ability to teach on Sundays, host from stage (welcome, announcements, etc.) regularly, lead members classes monthly and contribute to The Journey's teaching team on a weekly basis. Requires the commitment to grow and develop as a communicator as a part of The Journey’s teaching team.

Qualities that Will Help You Succeed:

  • Organizational and administrative skills are an absolute must.
  • Must be hard-working, bring energy and enthusiasm to the table, and have had leadership experience on a large or growing church staff.
  • Other desired characteristics include strong interpersonal skills; growing leader; team builder; sense of humor; risk-taker (seminary not required).

This role is ideal for someone with a bachelor degree or higher education – who has the gift of teaching and wants to develop as a minister and grow with the church.

This is a key position with the potential to move to executive staff level in time.

Salary is competitive and will be based on experience/education and will be confirmed early in the interview process. The position is available immediately.

What We Offer:

  • Paid time off
  • Insurance options
  • Fun, fast-paced, mission-driven work environment
