What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Driver-Deliver the News before the sun comes up position at The Journal?
Ballantine Communications publishes three prominent regional newspapers, and every morning, readers across the Four Corners count on us to put the news in their hands. We're looking for a full-time delivery driver to make that happen.
The job: While most people are asleep, you're on the open road, hauling a truck-trailer combination across some of the most scenic country in the Southwest. Your shift runs from around midnight to 8 or 9 am, with quiet highways, big skies, and a front-row seat to the sunrise.
What you'll do:
- Drive truck-trailer combinations over long distances and highways
- Hook, unhook, and inspect trailers, and complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections to keep your rig road-ready
- Deliver and collect newspapers and free publications along your route
- Handle coin collections and route deliveries as needed
- Keep newspaper and free publication racks clean and well maintained
- Keep accurate distribution records
What you bring:
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Reliability, sharp attention to detail, and strong organization
- Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 50 pounds
Why you'll like it:
- Independent work with open roads and minimal supervision
- Your days are free for appointments, errands, family, and the outdoors
- A real role in keeping local journalism alive
- We'll train the right person. Bring the reliability, and we'll help with the rest.
Ready to hit the road? Apply today and join the team that gets the news there first.
