The role requires working independently or as part of a team to interpret blueprints, select appropriate welding techniques, and complete assignments within designated timeframes. The Weekend Shift Welder helps minimize downtime by addressing urgent welding needs and supporting ongoing projects outside of regular weekday hours (Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6:30am-6:30pm). Ultimately, this position ensures that production goals are met while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to company policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform various welding operations including MIG, TIG, and arc welding on metal components according to specifications and blueprints.
  • Inspect welded joints for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary to meet standards.
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition and reporting any malfunctions promptly.

  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines during weekend shifts.

Skills:

The required welding skills are applied daily to execute precise and durable welds that meet production specifications and safety standards. Reading and interpreting blueprints allows the welder to understand project requirements and ensure accuracy in their work. Safety skills are critical to maintaining a hazard-free work environment, especially during weekend shifts when supervision may be limited. Preferred skills such as certification and experience with inspection tools enhance the welder's ability to deliver high-quality results and identify potential defects early. Additionally, troubleshooting and equipment maintenance skills help minimize downtime and keep production running smoothly throughout the weekend.
