Staff Accountant

Location: Winter Park / Orlando, FL

Target Compensation: $65K - $80K

Hybrid Role

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join the team in Winter Park, FL. This hybrid position will support day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, cash entries, bank reconciliations, month-end close, journal entries, and asset management.

The Staff Accountant will also collaborate across departments and office locations to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and participate in ongoing Workday implementation initiatives.

The Role

• Process and manage accounts payable transactions.
• Record and reconcile daily cash entries.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Support month-end close procedures.
• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Maintain asset management records and process related entries.
• Review employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
• Collaborate with other departments and office locations to support consolidation of financial statements.
• Perform day-to-day accounting functions within Workday.
• Participate in Workday implementation projects, testing, and process improvements.
• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with company policies.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 1 - 2 years of relevant insurance accounting experience.
• Experience with accounts payable, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  
  

Preferred Experience

• Workday or similar ERP experience.
• Experience or exposure to Applied Epic.
• Experience with system implementations, testing, or process improvements.
• Experience supporting financial statement consolidation.
