Commercial Underwriter

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Underwriter to join a team. This role involves managing a significant portfolio of large commercial accounts, evaluating risks, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure the successful renewal and quoting of business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial property underwriting and a desire to grow into a leadership role within the organization.

Compensation Package

• Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 (flexible based on experience)
• 401(k): 3% company contribution
  
  

Responsibilities

• Manage a $12M-$14M book of business, consisting of 250-350 large commercial accounts after the training period
• Evaluate and assess risks for renewals and new business opportunities
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective account management
• Work with accounts in industries such as school districts, municipalities, and public entities
• Provide quotes for new and renewal business as required
  
  

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial property underwriting (flexible on total years of experience)
• Experience with large commercial accounts and public entities is preferred but not required
• Strong analytical and risk evaluation skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• A desire to grow into a leadership role within the organization
• Must reside in Michigan, Indiana, or Ohio and be able to travel to the Toledo office once a month
