Main Responsibilities
- Lead designer and brand administrator who will develop innovative graphic designs that meet business goals and articulate Jones Center and Jones Trust brand aesthetics.
- Experience and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and multiple design software programs, ie Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva.
- Collaborate and strategize to produce various designs and materials, including web ads, digital and static banners, brochures, direct mailers, onsite signage, billboards, campaign and promotional items, web pages, reports and presentations, and other communication pieces.
- Review concepts and designs with appropriate staff to obtain buy-in and approval. Revise work as necessary based on a collaborative feedback process.
- Ensure that designs meet expectations and brand standards; appropriately represent Jones Center and its partners.
- Maintain and update websites including adding and removing content, reviewing and updating pages with current promotions, events, or company milestones. Create graphic elements and design layouts for web pages, including icon and button design. Research, explore and experiment with new ideas.
- Optimize web content by testing and refining.
- Fulfill print production needs across the organization, creating and updating indoor signage and billboards, facilitating art approvals with third parties, and ushering projects through print production to final installation.
- Create digital signage, including scoreboards and indoor monitors, while building capacity to meet future signage needs as the organization enters new phases of a significant campuswide expansion.
- Manage the department’s graphics folders and digital brand elements.
- Work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines, stay within budget, and prioritize projects based on workload.
- Some photography and video editing.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Skills and Abilities
- Superior interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are required.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and creative with innovative design skills.
- Ability to communicate in a measured and professional manner with staff and guests.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, design, and project management software. Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) experience is required.
- Experience with SEO principles, knowledge of UI/UX principles.
- Photography/video production and editing skills preferred.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Spanish or Marshallese language proficiency is a plus.
Education, Training, and Experience
- Associate or bachelor’s degree or significant coursework in Art, Graphic Design, or related fields, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 3 years of experience in professional graphic design, preferably with a creative or marketing agency.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain stationary, occasionally standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift 15 pounds occasionally.
