Network Infrastructure Engineer 

Location: New York, Onsite at client facilities with hybrid/remote support as needed 

Duration: Contract (1099) 

Schedule: Monday – Friday (35 hours)  

Work Environment: Government-operated technology and facilities environment 

Our client, a large government-operated technology organization responsible for safeguarding critical IT infrastructure across multiple facilities. They require comprehensive physical security measures that align with stringent governmental cybersecurity directives, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines, and established industry best practices. Their environment demands rigorous access controls, protection of sensitive systems, and adherence to evolving security standards to ensure the resilience, integrity, and confidentiality of all technology assets. 

The Network Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for:  

• Designing, implementing, and managing the IT architecture that enables communication and data exchange across the client’s departmental network. 
• Configuring and managing routers, switches, and network devices to ensure optimal routing and efficient data transmission. 
• Implementing network security measures including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access control systems to protect against cyber threats. 
• Utilizing network monitoring tools to oversee network performance, identify issues, and troubleshoot real-time connectivity problems. 
• Deploying virtual network infrastructure to support scalable and flexible operations. 

Qualifications:  

• 3 years of experience designing, deploying, and managing large-scale network infrastructure. 
• Proven strong knowledge of routers, switches, load balancers, and network architecture best practices. 
• Familiarity with TIA, BICSI, and NIST standards for networking and physical security. 
• Expertise in network security—including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access control systems. 
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including network operations, data center staff, cabling vendors, architects, and construction teams. 

Compensation and Benefits:  

• Salary range: $63 per hr (1099) 
• Benefits: 401K
