We are seeking a Program Manager, Pandemic Preparedness Leadership Development who will provide hands-on project management support for a multi-year Pandemic Preparedness Leadership Development Program. The Program Manager will manage and execute projects, develop experiential learning activities, support academic and scholarly dissemination efforts, and help integrate clinical care delivery, operational practices and policy priorities.

The Program Manager oversees all aspects of day-to-day administration of an academic program; this may include student admission, registration, training and grant administration.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement processes, procedures, and systems. May include course scheduling system, student and faculty database, faculty contracts, payroll processing.
  • Work closely with program director or department chair in establishing program course schedules, developing marketing materials, brochures, catalogs, requiring planning, coordination, knowledge and understanding of the academic program.
  • Represent the program in administrative matters. May include issues pertaining to space, facilities, technology, student information system, and classroom support.
  • Develop various program reports (budget and non-budget).
  • Oversee and monitor program expenditures. Contribute to program budget development and projections.
  • Define and document experiential learning program scope, objectives, activities, milestones, and outcomes based on partner needs, student interest, and resources.
  • Create long- and short-term plans for experiential learning opportunities.
  • Coordinate multi-partner engagement in collaborative design and delivery of programming.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with the university’s divisions.
  • Serve as a point of contact for students and student programming staff and affiliates.
  • Provide project updates to partners and manage expectations.
  • Maintain proactive and feedback channels with executives, colleagues, and internal and external partners.
  • Prepare project status reports, risk management assessments, and other program lifecycle reports and documentation.
  • Create and communicate routine and periodic updates, such as bulletins, meeting summaries, and presentations for leadership, university divisions, and stakeholders.
  • Create briefings, presentations, and talking points about experiential learning programs for various audiences.
  • Assess client needs, identify the resources best positioned to meet them, and activate internal subject matter experts or external partners.
  • Adjust schedules and targets as situations may require ensuring project goals are met.
  • Promote cooperation with teams to propose and develop sustainable and innovative solutions.
  • Execute special projects, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

In addition to the duties described above

  • Work with faculty participants and faculty leaders to define project scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Support execution of projects related to emergency preparedness, alternative care models, rapid diagnostics, and health system response.
  • Collaborate with faculty participants and support faculty leaders to design, coordinate, and iteratively refine experiential learning activities, including leadership shadowing, operational roles, policy exposure, research initiatives, and cross-sector partnerships.
  • Participate in selected projects to support real-time development and execution, rather than functioning solely in a coordinating role.
  • Support and, as appropriate, participate in academic dissemination efforts alongside faculty participants and faculty leaders. This may include contributing to abstracts, presentations, white papers, reports, lectures, and educational materials, with level of contribution aligned to the individual’s training, skills, and experience, and under faculty mentorship.
  • Apply clinical training and healthcare experience to support projects that integrate clinical care delivery, health system operations, public health policy, and academic inquiry.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty participants and leaders to synthesize lessons learned from prior pandemic response efforts into practical frameworks, educational content, and leadership development materials.
  • Support coordination and communication across internal and external stakeholders including faculty participants, faculty leadership, trainees, public health partners, industry collaborators, and administrative teams to ensure alignment of goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Prepare meeting materials, summaries, and project updates in support of faculty-led initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in education or specific field related to program
  • Five years of' experience in all aspects of academic program administration.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience.
