Market Data Analyst – Global Investment Management
We are partnering with a highly regarded investment-focused organisation seeking a technically strong and commercially aware Market Data Analyst to join a fast-paced global team. This role offers exposure to front-office stakeholders, complex financial datasets, and strategic initiatives focused on automation, operational excellence, and process innovation. This role is based in Champaign, Illinois and it requires 5 days in the office per week (Full Time).
Responsibilities include:
- Provide support across market data operations, resolving data-related issues and contributing to both BAU activities and strategic initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process optimisation using technology and data-driven solutions.
- Collaborate closely with business users, technology teams, and external providers to gather and translate requirements into actionable solutions.
- Enhance operational workflows through improved tooling, reporting, and process design.
- Produce high-quality documentation and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives across the team.
- Monitor operational risks, escalate issues proactively, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong academic background with a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Familiarity with SQL and/or Python for data analysis and automation tasks.
- Understanding of financial products and asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income, Credit, or Derivatives.
- Experience within financial services, data operations, market data, analytics, or technology-focused environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities and evolving technologies.
- Keen interest in financial markets, investment management, and data-driven decision making.
