Primary Responsibility:
Provides licensing oversight and management of 8 special needs quads under the direction of the Director of Residential Services. Supervises residential management staff to plan holistic services that support emotional, physical, and social well-being of residents. Participates and collaborates with administration and the residential team towards the development and implementation of policies and procedures, as well as promoting the mission of Weinberg Commons.
Job Responsibilities:
· Develop, monitor, and schedule New Staff Orientation and training for existing staff to ensure that all staff are fully trained and have completed all requirements as per DDD mandates and regulations from hire and throughout employment.
· Set up new employees with electronic and EHR access including Care Logic, CDS, and Safety Care.
· Schedule onsite shadowing and in quad training for all new employees.
· Perform weekly Quality Assurance monitoring of staff documentation to ensure it reflects services provided and individual's progress, in accordance with Individual Service Plan (ISP) and government regulations.
· Monitor and ensure accurate service notes, treatment plans, ISPs, and all other program documentation as mandated by DDD and Medicaid.
· Participates in all ISP, IDT, Residential, Administration and Federation meetings.
· Facilitates and/or participates in Management and Family Meetings as needed.
· Review and approve timecard entries, ADP time off requests for Residential management team.
· Conduct annual evaluations for Management team.
· Partners with HR to complete and present corrective action to staff as needed.
· Monitor risk management to report Internal incidents and submit Unusual Incidents to DDD and administration as required.
· Investigates all Internal and Unusual Incidents for Residential program.
· Conduct random integrity checks along with weekly residential site visits to ensure program quality.
· Prepare for and participate in state inspection visits to maintain licensing
requirements, under the direction of Director of Residential Services
· Perform monthly quality assurance audits on residential sites, documentation, and vehicles to address compliance concerns appropriately.
· Assist Registered Nurse with Medical/Medication Audits.
· Ensures Human Resources is notified timely regarding employee relations issues.
· Assist in the recruitment and orientation of residential staff.
· Maintains "On call" 24-hour coverage, in cooperation with other residential management staff.
· Assist with coverage of shifts as needed, to ensure staffing ratios.
· Attending conferences, seminars, and training relevant to the position.
· Develop and maintain relationships with family members/advocates of the residents and address concerns professionally and timely.
· Assists with the creation of site forms and internal processes as needed.
· Assist with the management of program staffing schedules including oversight of staff Over time.
· Complete Employee Status Change Forms as needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· Associates/Bachelor's degree, high school diploma, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
· 5 years of hands-on experience working with individuals with disabilities in a residential setting, knowledge of person-centered planning and community resources for individuals with disabilities. Demonstrate an understanding of inclusion and compassion.
· Ability to handle pressure in a crisis and demonstrate good judgement, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
· Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity in dealing with confidential issues, ability to work independently and execute good reasoning and judgement.
· Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
· Ability to work flexible schedule as needed.
· Driver’s license valid in the state of New Jersey
· Exceptional customer service and communication skills
· Strong management and leadership skills
· Must cooperate with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation.
· Demonstrate an understanding of inclusion, compassion and problem solving with individuals with disabilities and their families.
