SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Director of Facilities is responsible for hands-on maintenance and the operational management of all facility-related functions at the Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC, a 170,000 SF building situated on approx. 55 acres of land. This role oversees all aspects of design, construction, modification, maintenance, cleanliness, and safety of the campus.
Additionally, this position will work in partnership with the Assistant VP, Facilities for the Associated and Sr. Director, Weinberg Park Heights JCC to support facility needs for the Weinberg Park Heights JCC This position includes supervision of a Lead Facilities Crew Member and a Housekeeping Supervisor at the Owings Mills Campus who supervise a combined team of 10 employees.
This position requires the incumbent to work a Monday through Friday schedule throughout the year. However, weekend and evening hours will be included as needed based on weekly demands, meetings, emergency situations, and other JCC duties.
This position is based primarily at the Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC and offers limited flexibility to work virtually as needed and with approval from the CEO.

who you are:
- Minimum of four (4) years of senior-level leadership experience in facilities management.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Experience managing contractors and vendors.
- Sound knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Comfortable executing both high-level strategic and day-to-day administrative tasks.
- Knowledge of pool operations and maintenance are a plus.
- Proven problem-solving, analytical, and time-management, skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading capital improvement projects.
- Working knowledge of procurement and contracts.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to administer multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize workload, and effectively manage resources.
- Experience developing, reviewing, and managing budgets.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to fluently read and interpret construction plans and specs.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion.
- Able to work well in a team environment and with a diverse group of people.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new systems.
Building Maintenance
- Ensure efficient operation of all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.
- Ensure all facilities and equipment meet local, state, and national codes and regulations.
- Implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program.
- Ensure proper operation and certification of all fire and life safety systems and certifications.
- Serve as the on-call contact for building emergencies.
- Supervise, train, and oversee all Owings Mills JCC (OMJCC) maintenance & custodial staff.
- Provide direction on work prioritization and coordination to maintenance staff to ensure all opening/closing, cleaning, room set-ups and breakdowns, repairs, and grounds maintenance and upkeep are completed in a timely manner.
- Act as a liaison to all departments regarding maintenance and facility needs. Foster a collaborative work environment with all departments.
- Oversee renovations, construction, and facility improvement projects.
- Serve as a member of the JCC Sr. Director Team and lead staff liaison for the JCC Building Committee in collaboration with lay leaders.
- Manage all outside maintenance and service contracts, including developing relationships, soliciting bids, and negotiating contracts.

- Track warranties and negotiate service contracts with equipment suppliers, anticipating upgrades and repairs as necessary.
- Oversee annual inspections, licenses, and maintain compliance documentation.

- Track short-term and long-term facility expenses, equipment and resource needs of company and staff.
- Manage maintenance budgets and contribute to financial planning to keep our center running smoothly without fiscal surprises.
- Participate in departmental and Agency training, staff meetings, supervisory conferences, committees, and special events.
- Oversee campus grounds maintenance, including snow and salt removal, landscaping, etc.
- Work with Associated Facility Leadership to develop energy management systems and procedures to promote energy conservation.
- Implement and manage Owings Mills JCC Security and Emergency Procedures.
- Perform other duties as needed to provide support for overall operations of the JCC.
