Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to join our team. This role is a key position within the community, supporting the day-to-day operations of the property while also managing all leasing activities.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, customer-focused, and capable of balancing administrative responsibilities, resident relations, and leasing functions. This position works closely with the Property Manager to ensure smooth operations and a positive living experience for residents.
Duties
Leasing & Resident Relations:
- Assist prospective residents in finding suitable apartment homes by providing detailed information on available units and community amenities
- Conduct property tours and effectively present the community to potential residents
- Manage the full leasing process, including applications, verifications, and lease execution
- Respond to phone, email, and in-person inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Provide excellent customer service to both prospective and current residents
Operational & Administrative Support:
- Assist the Property Manager with daily operations of the community
- Maintain accurate records of leases, notices, and resident communications
- Support rent collection efforts, including following up on delinquencies and issuing notices as needed
- Assist with lease enforcement and ensure compliance with community policies and guidelines
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and company policies at all times
Property & Team Coordination:
- Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure timely completion of work orders and unit turns
- Assist in coordinating move-ins and move-outs
- Monitor property conditions and report any concerns
- Support overall property organization and administrative functions
Requirements
- Previous experience in property management, leasing, or a related field preferred
- Strong understanding of Fair Housing laws (LIHTC knowledge is a plus)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Professional demeanor and ability to handle difficult situations
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.) is required
- Experience with Yardi property management software is a plus
