About the role
The Jade Apartments is a 238-unit apartment community in Winter Haven, FL. We’re looking for a dependable, skilled Maintenance Technician to join our on-site team.

This role is a great fit if you’re the kind of technician who walks into a unit, sees what needs to be done, and gets after it - without waiting to be handed a checklist. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership, moves with purpose, and takes pride in doing the job right the first time. If you like solving problems, working independently, and leaving a unit better than you found it, you’ll do well here.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role for a technician who takes ownership of their work, communicates professionally, and works well with residents, vendors, and the property team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, drywall, carpentry, door/lock, fixture, and general building issues
• Complete service requests accurately and in a timely manner
• Prepare vacant units for move-in, including make-ready, punch work, paint touch-up, and minor repairs
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine property inspections
• Identify safety hazards and resolve or report them promptly
• Maintain organized work areas, tools, and inventory
• Communicate clearly with management on work order status, needed parts, and follow-up items
• Coordinate with vendors when needed
• Respond to occasional after-hours maintenance emergencies if needed

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of maintenance experience preferred; apartment or residential maintenance strongly preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability across multiple systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances)
• Able to prioritize tasks and maintain pace without constant supervision
• Professional and respectful with residents, coworkers, and vendors
• EPA certification preferred (we will support you in obtaining certification if needed)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Able to use ladders, lift 50 pounds, and perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
