Job Description
The Sales Manager leads internal and external sales teams responsible for Government and Commercial Health Insurance products. Oversees sales strategy, execution, and day-to-day operations while ensuring compliance with licensing, training, and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, delivering an excellent customer experience, and improving overall sales performance. The Sales Manager will coach, develop, and support sales representatives to achieve and exceed sales goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead sales teams, sales strategy, and performance initiatives for Government and Commercial Health Insurance products
- Develop and manage business plans, sales goals, quotas, and retention strategies
- Create and implement short- and long-term sales strategies to drive growth and improve program effectiveness
- Collaborate with Marketing and Product teams to execute customer acquisition and retention initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all Federal and State regulations related to health insurance sales, marketing, and communications
- Represent the organization at community events, networking opportunities, and open enrollment activities
- Develop and oversee sales training programs and performance tracking metrics
- Monitor sales performance data and present reporting insights to leadership stakeholders
- Identify target audiences and customer profiles to support strategic growth initiatives
- Manage broker contracting, assess business needs, and oversee external broker performance
Requirements
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 7 years of sales experience required
- 1–3 years of Health Insurance sales experience required
- At least 1 year of leadership or people management experience with proven success exceeding goals
- Active State Health Insurance Producer License required
- AHIP Medicare certification/licensure required
- Knowledge of Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, ACA/Exchange, and/or Large Group insurance products
Salary : $80,000 - $120,000
