Financial Accounting and Reporting Lead

Job Description:

A Financial Accounting and Reporting Lead is needed to support an organization during a significant transition period. This role involves managing complex financial reporting, internal account reconciliations, and preparing key financial statements. The candidate will collaborate with internal teams and external auditors, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and accurate financial disclosures. The position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute strategically to the organization’s financial health while working remotely. The anticipated start date is May 11, 2026, and the engagement is expected to continue until April 30, 2027.

Responsibilities:

• Support the organization during its transition period related to a nonprofit affiliation with a major healthcare system.
• Work seamlessly within the general ledger system to record and approve transactions for accurate financial reporting.
• Perform complex internal account reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.
• Prepare financial statements including the statement of financial position, statement of operations, and change in net assets.
• Assist in the development and presentation of financial reports and management documents related to monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
• Report financial results to management and product owners, providing strategic insights to optimize revenue and contain costs.
• Develop actionable recommendations for management to improve financial performance.
• Analyze financial results against forecasts and budgets to identify variances and opportunities.
• Research emerging accounting guidance and prepare memos supporting company policies and auditor requirements.
• Prepare tax filings for both profit and nonprofit entities with support from external tax firms.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes, ensuring compliance and accuracy of financial statements.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure timely delivery of audit requirements.
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle Fusion Financials, and other relevant technologies effectively.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Deep understanding of GAAP and statutory accounting principles.
• Comprehensive knowledge of consolidation accounting practices and procedures.
• Experience working with diverse business models and revenue expense analysis.
• Ability to develop integrated financial reports, projections and presentations independently.

Pay Range:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00 per hour. We understand salary is an important factor in a job search, and we encourage you to apply even if you feel that your desired compensation may fall outside of the listed range. The final pay for this position is determined based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant experience, skills and certifications, education and training, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity.
