Job Description: Medical Assistant-Part Time II
Works 3,8, or 12-hour shifts as needed up to 19 hours per week. Works every other weekend-Sunday shift will be for 7 hours and Saturday can either be an 8 or 12-hour shift.
Location: Midtown Clinic-Jackson, TN, 38305
Job Summary
The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing clerical and patient care duties as delegated by a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, and physician to maintain an efficient and effective workflow for providers. The duties include scheduling appointments, scheduling tests, scheduling procedures, answering phone and patient questions, preparing patient for appointment, administration of medications and treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments, tests, and procedures for patients
- Answer phone and patient questions
- Prepare patients for appointments
- Administer medications and treatment as directed by healthcare provider
- Perform other duties as assigned by healthcare provider
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current Medical Assistant certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
