In This Role You Will
- Lead formulation development for new and existing Uncrustables breads and sandwich products, building strong technical understanding of ingredients, formulas, and process interactions.
- Develop and execute learning plans that address business needs, translate technical findings into clear recommendations, and support sound project decisions.
- Serve as a project team member or technical lead on moderate-complexity innovation, renovation, and transformation initiatives.
- Plan and support lab, pilot plant, scale-up, and manufacturing trials at internal and contract manufacturing sites.
- Apply technical judgment, experimental design, and data analysis to solve formulation and process challenges with limited guidance.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, specifications, and data governance practices aligned with project and business requirements.
- Collaborate across R&D, Operations, Technical Services, Procurement, Quality, and external partners to advance projects and resolve technical issues.
- Support food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements through sound formulation practices and appropriate technical review.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science or other scientific discipline
- 2 years of technical experience in R&D or a related technical discipline, preference in Human Food, Bakery, and/or Snacks
- Strong foundation in food formulation and product development
- Working knowledge of stage gate processes, product specifications, and technical documentation
- Ability to apply statistical analysis and translate technical data into actionable recommendations
- Food safety foundation; PCQI training a plus
- Strong communicator who can translate technical information for cross-functional audiences
- Effective problem solver with the ability to troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment
- Able to build credibility and productive relationships across teams and disciplines
- Uses data, visualization, and storytelling to influence project decisions
- Demonstrates continuous learning and flexibility to support business needs, including hybrid work expectations
