The house engineer is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and upkeep of the installations at the hotel, including immediate guest room deficiencies, as well as participating in a preventive maintenance program of all-building equipment, guestrooms, meeting rooms, ballrooms in all areas of the hotel.

The house engineer is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and upkeep of the installations at the hotel, including immediate guest room deficiencies, as well as participating in a preventive maintenance program of all-building equipment, guestrooms, meeting rooms, ballrooms in all areas of the hotel.
What You Will Be Doing
- Flexibility in work shifts may include mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Cover shifts in the engineering department as needed.
- Become familiar with and understand all the systems (i.e. electrical distribution and lighting, swimming pool, TV antenna, fire/life safety and emergency generator, central plant, kitchen, HVAC and refrigeration, etc.) associated with the hotel operations
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
- Organize materials, tools and equipment to perform daily assignments
- Participate in the preventive maintenance program while maintaining time lines and work schedule
- Check work orders and Engineering department service request log for maintenance deficiency calls or for any problems. Make rounds checking these problem areas; note any touch-up needs or/and safety concerns in the hotel
- Maintain par stock levels of supplies and communicate requisition needs
- Strip and refinish guestroom furniture
- Complete and of shift paperwork with any follow-up actions
- Carry out any other tasks assigned
**Your experience and skills include:**
- Previous experience in general maintenance
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbal and non-verbal
- Knowledge of tools and equipment respective to job functions
- Ability to interpret manufacturer's literature for installation, preparation, use and upkeep of various materials and products used throughout the property
- High School diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements and use of equipment/machinery
- Complete basic arithmetic
- Exert physical effort in transporting miscellaneous items (50-150 pounds) throughout all areas of the hotel.
- Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
- Constant walking, standing, kneeling, bending, pushing, and pulling
