A day in the life…
- Wondering what a day in the life of a RN Lead in Gastroenterology at The Iowa Clinic might look like?
- Provide direct patient care, including rooming patients, obtaining medical information, taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, coordinating testing, medication refills, and patient education.
- Coordinate patient care, referrals, and communication with providers, patients, pharmacies, and care team members.
- Support clinic operations by prioritizing workflows, managing schedules, monitoring staffing needs, and assisting with operational goals.
- Assist with onboarding, training, mentoring, and supervision of clinical staff.
- Help maintain clinical workflows, policies, documentation standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as a resource for patient concerns, clinical questions, and day-to-day clinic operations.
- Monitor medical supply inventory and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain professional licensure, continuing education, and compliance with safety and infection control standards.
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Two years’ nursing experience required; informal or formal supervisory experience a plus.
- Current RN license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa.
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- State of Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certification is required (must be able to obtain within 60 days of hire).
