A day in the life…
Wondering what a day in the life of a Customer Service Receptionist at The Iowa Clinic might look like?
- Greets patients, patients’ families, guests of West Lakes, co-workers, physicians and others in a cheerful, prompt, courteous and professional manner. Utilizing effective listening skills ascertains needs and directs guests appropriately. Seeks assistance as need to assure guest satisfaction in reaching their location.
- Maintains awareness of visitors and guests entering West Lakes. If not approached directly by the visitor or guest, inquires regarding need for assistance appropriately.
- Answers incoming “1-800” and West Lakes “building” telephone lines and directs calls or takes messages appropriately. Seeks assistance as needed.
- Assists with clerical projects as requested or assigned as time permits.
- Promotes a positive, professional image of The Iowa Clinic both internally and externally.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient information.
- Maintains awareness of front reception areas and notifies appropriate individual(s) to assure a clean, neat and professional presentation of the area(s).

Education
- A High school diploma or equivalent required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a customer service or front desk receptionist environment preferred.
