Role Summary
A client of The Intersect Group is seeking a Product Manager to help drive the evolution of enterprise platforms that support fuel asset monitoring, maintenance management, and operational performance across a large-scale retail network.
In this role, you will analyze operational and telemetry data from thousands of connected fuel assets, identify opportunities for product enhancements, and translate business needs into actionable solutions. You will partner closely with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, shape product direction, and deliver capabilities that improve asset performance, maintenance reporting, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of fuel operations, connected assets, and asset performance management processes.
- Analyze large datasets and telemetry information to identify trends, operational challenges, and product opportunities.
- Build data-backed business cases and product recommendations that align with organizational goals.
- Gather requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into clear product features and user stories.
- Prioritize product backlog items and support roadmap execution based on business value and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Define, monitor, and report on KPIs to measure product performance and value delivery.
- Present product enhancements, communicate priorities, and influence stakeholders to drive adoption and business outcomes.
Key Requirements
- 4–5 years of Product Management experience, preferably within technology, enterprise applications, operational systems, or data-driven products.
- Experience working with IoT, device monitoring, asset management, telemetry data, operational technology (OT), or connected device environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate large datasets, identify meaningful trends, and translate insights into product features and improvements.
- Experience with product backlog management, prioritization, roadmap planning, and Agile product development methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with engineering teams to deliver software products and enhancements successfully.
- Knowledge of monitoring platforms, operational analytics tools, dashboard/reporting products, or internal enterprise applications.
- Excellent communication skills with experience gathering requirements, presenting solutions, and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration, relationship-building, and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the retail fuel, convenience store, transportation, logistics, manufacturing, or other device-intensive industries.
- Familiarity with fuel operations, fuel asset management, forecourt systems, or point-of-sale (POS) environments.
- Experience supporting field operations teams and operational performance initiatives.
- Exposure to enterprise-scale asset monitoring and maintenance reporting platforms.
