Role Summary
We are seeking a Director of Accounting to lead and elevate the accounting function in a fast-paced, evolving environment. This role will drive the integrity of financial reporting, oversee the close process, and lead key transformation and integration initiatives across the organization.
The Director of Accounting will partner closely with FP&A, finance leadership, and executive stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, scalable processes, and alignment with strategic goals. This position plays a critical role in optimizing operations within a largely manual environment while preparing the organization for future growth and potential transaction activity.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and improve the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Partner with FP&A to analyze general ledger activity, provide variance explanations, and align reporting with forecasts and strategic planning
• Oversee general accounting operations including fixed assets, intercompany, payables, and other core accounting areas
• Serve as the subject matter expert on technical accounting matters including intercompany eliminations and lease accounting
• Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations across multiple entities to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Act as the primary liaison with external auditors and manage the full audit lifecycle
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to regulatory and company requirements
• Drive process improvements, transformation initiatives, and system enhancements including ERP optimization
Key Requirements
• 10 plus years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities
• Strong background in U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and multi-entity environments
• Experience leading month-end close processes and managing general accounting functions
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools with strong Excel skills required
• Proven ability to drive process improvements and lead through change in a fast-paced environment
• Experience partnering cross functionally with FP&A, finance, and executive leadership
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA preferred
