Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items with attention to quality, presentation, and consistency in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Assist in menu planning by offering creative ideas and ensuring ingredient availability for daily specials and seasonal offerings
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with health regulations
- Handle food preparation tasks including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently and accurately
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of dishes while maintaining quality control
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation times and ensure timely service during busy hours
- Practice excellent food handling techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure freshness of all ingredients
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Strong background in food industry settings such as restaurants or catering services with fine dining exposure
- Exceptional knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food presentation principles
- Familiarity with food safety protocols, including proper storage, sanitation, and handling procedures
