This role is responsible for ensuring work is completed accurately, safely, and on time, while assisting leadership with training, workflow direction, and process improvement. The Warehouse Lead acts as a resource for team members and helps drive productivity, quality, and efficiency across the operation.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform all core warehouse functions including picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory handling.
- Provide day-to-day direction to team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Serve as the primary point of contact on the floor in the absence of a Supervisor.
- Assist with training and onboarding of new employees, as well as ongoing coaching for current staff.
- Monitor workflow and adjust priorities as needed to meet daily production and shipping goals.
- Ensure adherence to safety policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality standards.
- Use warehouse management systems (WMS) and handheld scanners to track inventory and order status.
- Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and proper product handling.
- Identify and communicate operational issues, bottlenecks, or inefficiencies to leadership.
- Assist in implementing process improvements to increase productivity and reduce errors.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Check equipment for proper operation and report maintenance needs.
- Assist in resolving minor employee concerns and escalate more complex issues as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year of experience in a warehouse, distribution, or production environment.
- Previous experience in a lead or informal leadership role preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory processes, and safety practices.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
