Job Summary – Staff Accountant
Reporting directly to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for month end close, account reconciliations, and assisting with yearend audit. This position will have exposure across the entire accounting function, including the financial reporting and analysis, general ledger maintenance, and compliance. Additionally, the Staff Accountant will assist with the integration of new companies as the business grows and contributes to the ongoing implementation of new ERP systems. Experience with Sage X3 and Netsuite a plus.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Assist in the monthly reporting requirements
- Assist with treasury (cash, AR,AP)
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed
- Assist with annual audit requests, providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet and general ledger accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
- Prepare financial schedules, reports, and supporting documentation
- Analyze variances and investigate discrepancies
- Maintain accurate accounting records
- Assist with fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation
- Participate in process improvements and accounting system enhancements
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and deadlines
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- At least 2 years’ experience in an accounting position
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
- Experience with accounting/ERP systems preferred (e.g., Paylocity, NetSuite, Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
