Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care across various medical specialties. Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately.
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates to support clinical assessments.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
- Support physicians with procedures such as X-ray imaging, medication administration, and basic life support when necessary.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) by documenting patient information, diagnoses (including ICD coding), and treatment plans efficiently.
- Manage medical supplies inventory and ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of clinical equipment in compliance with safety standards.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, coordinating appointments, and facilitating smooth clinic operations across outpatient or inpatient settings.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to various specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, or emergency medicine.
- Experience working within hospital environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with EHR systems for documentation, scheduling, and billing purposes.
- Ability to perform clinical tasks such as X-ray procedures and medication administration accurately and safely.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of diverse backgrounds and collaborate with healthcare teams.
- Familiarity with hospital medicine protocols and medical-surgical practices enhances the ability to provide comprehensive support.
