Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Perform patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating personal data within EHR systems.
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to assist clinicians in assessing patient health.
- Assist with clinical procedures including medication administration, wound care, X-ray preparation, and basic life support when necessary.
- Support physicians during examinations and treatments in outpatient clinics, hospital units, or emergency settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers.
- Prepare examination rooms by sterilizing equipment, arranging supplies, and ensuring a clean environment compliant with safety standards.
- Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, ICD coding for diagnoses, and maintaining accurate patient records for billing and documentation purposes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across specialties including dermatology, geriatrics, internal medicine, pediatric ICU (PICU), and medical-surgical units to facilitate comprehensive patient care.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions or concerns professionally and empathetically while maintaining confidentiality.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics or hospital environments with exposure to emergency medicine or trauma centers preferred.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency in medical documentation practices including ICD coding is essential.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to diverse specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, or surgical units.
- Experience supporting inpatient care settings including Geriatrics wards or PICU is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to perform clinical procedures such as X-ray assistance or medication administration accurately and safely.
- Background working within Level I or Level II trauma centers or urgent care facilities enhances suitability for this role.
