Substance Abuse Counselor – Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
The Institute for Behavioral Change, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and qualified Substance Abuse Counselor to join our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) team. As a leading organization committed to behavioral health and community restoration, we are looking for a compassionate professional with experience in substance misuse counseling who is passionate about serving youth, adults, and returning citizens as they pursue recovery and positive life change.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for youth, adult, and returning citizen clients enrolled in the IOP.
- Facilitate age-appropriate and culturally responsive group sessions, including youth groups and adult recovery groups.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s clinical and psychosocial needs.
- Provide psychoeducation on substance use disorders, relapse prevention, life skills, and recovery-oriented strategies.
- Address the unique needs of returning citizens, including reentry stressors, accountability, and community reintegration.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive, coordinated client care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records in compliance with organizational, state, and federal requirements.
Qualifications:
- ADT, CSC, or CAC-A/D certification required.
- Graduate-level or fully licensed clinician preferred.
- Professional experience providing substance misuse counseling to diverse populations, including youth and adults.
- Knowledge of child, adolescent, and family counseling techniques, particularly related to the impact of addiction on family systems.
- Experience facilitating individual and group counseling using a variety of therapeutic modalities.
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a hybrid work environment.
Contract Terms:
- Compensation: $35–$55 per session, commensurate with experience and credentials.
- Work Model: Hybrid schedule combining in-person and remote service delivery.
