Position Summary:
A Bartender plays a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional dining experience by crafting high-quality beverages and providing top-tier service to guests. This role requires a deep knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, wines, spirits, and an understanding of upscale service standards. The Bartender will create a welcoming and sophisticated atmosphere, ensuring that each guest’s visit to the bar is memorable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Beverage Preparation:
- Expertly prepare and serve a wide range of beverages, including classic and signature cocktails, wines, spirits, beers, and non-alcoholic drinks.
- Maintain consistency and quality in all beverages served, ensuring that each drink meets the restaurant’s high standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends, incorporating new techniques and ingredients to enhance the beverage program.
- Guest Service:
- Provide personalized and attentive service, engaging with guests to understand their preferences and make tailored recommendations.
- Create a warm and inviting atmosphere at the bar, ensuring that guests feel welcome and valued throughout their experience.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally, ensuring prompt resolution and satisfaction.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist in managing bar inventory, including ordering, stocking, and rotating products to minimize waste and ensure availability.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in maintaining accurate records of stock levels, usage, and breakage.
- Monitor bar supplies and ingredients, ensuring that the bar is fully stocked and operational at all times.
- Cleanliness and Organization:
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including the bar top, glassware, tools, and equipment, in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Ensure that all beverages are prepared and served in compliance with food safety standards and local alcohol laws.
- Perform daily and weekly cleaning tasks, including deep cleaning of equipment and storage areas, to maintain the bar’s appearance and functionality.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the manager, servers, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and communication across departments.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and tastings to stay informed about menu changes, promotions, and special events.
- Assist in training new bar staff, sharing knowledge and best practices to maintain the bar’s high standards.
- Upselling and Sales:
- Actively promote premium spirits, wines, and signature cocktails to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Suggest food and beverage pairings that complement the steakhouse menu, adding value to the dining experience.
- Keep track of sales trends and guest preferences, providing feedback to management for menu development and promotions.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all beverages are served in compliance with local, state, and federal alcohol laws, including checking IDs and refusing service when necessary.
- Adhere to the restaurant’s policies and procedures, including dress code, punctuality, and conduct, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs, such as TIPS or ServSafe, to stay current with industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Bartending certification is a plus.
- Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of bartending experience in a high-end restaurant, bar, or similar setting.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in crafting a wide range of cocktails and beverages.
- Strong knowledge of wines, spirits, and beer, with the ability to make informed recommendations.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Working Conditions:
