- Perform maintenance and repair work on the interior and exterior of buildings, hotel rooms

- Check and perform preventative maintenance on pumps, chlorinators, and filters for

- Report emergencies or threats to the security of guests, employees or hotel assets.
- Report any hazardous situations, malfunctioning to external signs or unlit areas.
- Install, adjust, modify and repair building systems and assess the conditions of all effective
- Test safety systems, e.g. emergency lighting and record keeping and assist with periodic
- Ensure that room maintenance requests are handled in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Follow up on all alarms immediately to determine the exact location and cause. Determine
- Assist the engineering staff in adhering to Loss Prevention guidelines.
- Perform inspections on a regular basis of working orders and checks, adjust repairs and
- Comply at all times with Gulph Creek standards and regulations to encourage safe and
- Approach all encounters with guests, owners, and employees in a friendly, service-oriented
- Oversee projects undertaken by an outside contractor, and ensure that their work is to Island
- Manage the maintenance department and its employees, and ensure effective collaboration
- Update and maintain equipment and supply inventories on a regular basis.
- Update and maintain the electronic ticketing system that is used to track maintenance repairs
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Gulph Creek Standards, as required by
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the
- Maintain organized and clean workspaces across the property.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years’ experience in general building maintenance and/or construction, or an equivalent
- Advanced vocational training a plus.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Must have good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to read and speak English/Spanish and comprehend simple instructions, short
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees, guests and supervisors for optimum
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
and interpret bar graphs
- Demonstrated engineering skills
Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Refrigeration, electrical, plumbing skills, boiler operation and maintenance skills, water
- Must have a valid driver’s license.

welding equipment, audio-visual equipment, pipe cutting equipment, telephone, office equipment,
calculator, computer/computerized monitoring systems.

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas
where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side
shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures,
lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
Salary : $27 - $30
