Role Description The Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys handling medical negligence and nursing home abuse/neglect cases, as well as serious car crash matters. This full-time hybrid role is based in Wilmington, DE, with a combination of in-office work and some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and formatting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other litigation documents; organizing medical records and case files; and performing legal research related to liability, damages, and procedural issues. The paralegal will assist with document review and evidence management, coordinate communications with clients, experts, and opposing counsel, and help prepare materials for depositions, mediations, and trial. The role involves managing deadlines, maintaining case calendars, and ensuring accurate, timely filings in state and federal courts.

Qualifications

  • 5 years as a litigation paralegal
  • Strong skills in legal document preparation, including drafting and formatting pleadings and motions.
  • Experience with document review and case file organization, particularly in litigation or personal injury matters.
  • Proficiency in legal research using standard tools and databases, with the ability to summarize findings clearly.
  • Familiarity with litigation procedures, court rules, and filing requirements in state and/or federal courts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
  • Comfort working with sensitive subject matter, including medical records and issues involving abuse, neglect, and catastrophic injury.
  • Proficiency with common law firm software (e.g., case management systems, Microsoft Office, PDF tools).
  • Paralegal certificate or degree, or equivalent relevant experience in litigation support.
  • Prior experience in medical malpractice, nursing home litigation, or personal injury is preferred but not required.
