Positional Overview
The Imagine Group is recruiting for a HR Coordinator on behalf of our client, a leading independent research and development organization in Buffalo, NY that provides advanced engineering, scientific research, and technology solutions in support of government, defense, aerospace, and commercial clients. The organization specializes in areas such as data science, cybersecurity, autonomous systems, aerospace testing, and high-performance computing, delivering innovative solutions to address complex technical challenges.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting daily human resources operations, including onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations. You will coordinate recruitment activities, assist with HR reporting and employee relations, maintain confidential personnel information, and collaborate with managers to provide positive employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle.
Role & Responsibility:
Tasks That Will Lead to Your Success
- Screens applicants based on job description and departmental needs.
- Schedule and attend all in-person and virtual interviews to ensure compliance.
- Process background checks through the background check provider platform.
- Process on-boarding for new hires and compile all new hire paperwork.
- Conduct new hire orientations on new employees’ first day.
- Coordinate the performance review process.
- Send new hire bios on the new employees’ first day.
- Prepare and send birthday announcements.
- Process employee perk raffle prizes.
- Management of the company merch inventory.
- Assist the HR Generalist with payroll and 401k functions as needed.

- BA/BS in Human Resources with minimum 2 years of experience in related area.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- The ability to problem-solve and seek resolution to issues as they arise.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to research and analyze information to be applied to situations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and HRS systems.
