- You must be able to distribute hugs on demand.
- The ability to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people is of utmost importance.
- The ability to pretend to realistically eat playdough creations is required-a skill that develops with experience. We promise you will become a master!
- You should not be averse to environments that at times may resemble the aftermath of a tornado.
- You must feel comfortable sitting on furniture that does not contain all of your behind.
- Showing a curiosity and interest in creepy crawlies is essential, even if they are your biggest fear.
- You must be prepared for a lot of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to engage in multiple times per day.
- You must be prepared to feel loved, special, admired and important to many young children! There is simply no other job like a Tiny Human Tamer!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervision of children are all times!
- Planning or co-planning developmentally appropriate lesson plans using the PA State Learning Standards.
- Assessing or assisting with assessing children through observation using the Ages and Stages Questionairre. Completition or assisting with the completion of bi-annual Child Service Reports.
- Maintaining an organized and appealing classroom based on developmentally appropriate practices.
- Communicating with families through daily sheets or at pick up and drop off.
- Maintaining annual credit hours per state guidelines.
- Working collaboratively with teammates.
Minimum Requirements needed to apply:
- 2 years experience working with children. Time working with children must documentable, and must be at a minimum of 2500 hours. Documentable hours can include babysitting and volunteering, or anything other work with children. ECE credits or a CDA is an acceptable alternative to experience.
- Experience in an early childcare setting in preferred but not required.
- Minimum of a high school diploma.
- At least 18 year of age.
