Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Hydraulic Repair Mechanic with experience in construction and agricultural equipment. This position involves working both in our shop and out in the field from time to time to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems on heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, tractors, skid steers, balers, and more. The ideal candidate will have hands-on mechanical experience, a solid understanding of hydraulic systems, and the ability to work independently in varying environments.
Key Responsibilities:In-Shop Responsibilities:
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble hydraulic components, including cylinders, pumps, motors, control valves, and hoses.
- Rebuild and test hydraulic components to manufacturer specifications.
- Utilize presses, torque tools, and other specialized shop equipment.
- Maintain detailed documentation of repairs and parts used.
- Keep a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area.
- Support the parts department with component evaluations and rebuild estimates.
Field Service Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site hydraulic diagnostics and repairs on construction and agricultural equipment.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic failures and system malfunctions in real-world conditions.
- Provide preventative maintenance and technical support to customers.
- Ensuring tools and inventory are maintained.
- Communicate clearly with customers and supervisors regarding repair status and recommendations.
- Adhere to all company and site-specific safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in hydraulics, diesel mechanics, or a related field is preferred.
- 3 years of hands-on experience in hydraulic repair or heavy equipment service.
- Experience reading hydraulic schematics and technical manuals is a positive.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems on brands such as John Deere, Case, Caterpillar, Kubota, Bobcat, etc.
- Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs and performing physical work in a variety of weather conditions.
Work Environment:
- Split between shop-based work and field service at farms, job sites, and construction yards.
- Exposure to grease, dirt, noise, and outdoor conditions is routine.
- May include occasional overtime and weekend hours based on customer needs.
