About the Role
The Senior Custodian – Inventory position is responsible for performing typical custodial duties (cleaning restrooms, dusting furniture and fixtures, spot cleaning walls: and furniture, emptying and cleaning trash cans, cleaning drinking fountains, interior and exterior windows, windowsills, doors, kitchens, and picking up debris), with a specific emphasis on maintaining custodial inventory for entire department. Senior Custodian- Inventory will keep track of all stock of department cleaning supplies, chemicals, paper products, etc. and maintain a sufficient inventory to ensure department is properly stocked. Will communicate with Custodial supervisor when new orders are needed of any supplies. Will deliver supplies to various locations on campus to ensure custodians all have adequate stock to keep areas maintained.

Essential Duties
Candidate Requirements and Experience
- Performs both routine and special cleaning work in all areas of the Huntington including but not limited to the following: cleans restrooms, vacuums carpets, mops hard surface floors, dusts furniture and fixtures, spot cleans walls: carpets, floors, and furniture, empties and cleans trash cans, cleans drinking fountains, washes interior and exterior windows, cleans window sills, cleans doors, cleans kitchens, picks up debris and washes down exterior areas, cleans all other areas as directed.
- Checks inventory daily for adequate supplies.
- Communicate with Custodial and advise when new orders should be placed.
- Communicate with Custodial Supervisor and advise when new supply orders should be placed.
- Delivers custodial supplies to various locations on campus in order that custodians can adequately maintain assigned areas.
- May assist with special event setups, indoors and outdoors, of tables, chairs, extension cords and other equipment as needed.
- May assist in moving boxes, furniture, or other items.
- May drive golf cart to drive between assigned areas.
- Other duties as assigned
- High School diploma required.
- Works in all physical plant areas.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy objects; walk and stand for long periods of time; climb ladders and stairs; bend and reach, stop. Must be able to see close detail work clearly to ensure thorough cleaning.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with others and function as a part of the custodial team. Must be flexible in assuming work assignments and knowledgeable about each cleaning procedure. Must be polite and diplomatic in dealing with other staff members
- Must be able to work flexible hours and days of the week, including weekends.
- Works with tools and electrical and mechanical equipment
- Requires the exercise of good judgment and caution

- Works either alone or in groups to complete work as assigned by Supervisor.
