The Human Resource Consulting Group, a growing consulting firm located in New Haven County, which provides high-touch service to our clients throughout the country is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Specialist to join our growing team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accuracy across client accounts, payroll and financial reconciliations and ensures we meet our financial controls for our Soc certification.
This is not a back-office accounting role. This role is positioned at the intersection of finance, payroll, and operations, and requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and the ability to work cross-functionally.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
Account ReconciliationFinancial Accuracy
- Reconcile client payroll accounts, tax accounts, and internal financial records
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to payroll funding, tax payments, and client balances
- Support monthly and daily reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy across all accounts
ClientInternal Support
- Partner with payroll and operations teams to resolve account-related questions
- Serve as a liaison between Finance and Operations to ensure clean handoffs and accuracy
What We're Looking For
- 3 years of experience in accounting, payroll, or financial operations
- Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and organizational ability
- Must be proficient in Excel (lookups, basic formulas, data review)
