Residential Drafter / Designer

Job Description

Our client, Rockdale Drafting, LLC is in search of a full-time Residential Drafter / Designer to work with our customers and sales team to create new and modify existing home plans. This individual will be responsible for performing all phases of architectural work from conceptual design through construction administration. This fast-paced job will entail experience with drafting based software so you must be tech savvy. This position is in person. Requirements to be Considered for this Position:

• Must be a people person, with a great personality.
• Strong design and critical thinking skills.
• Minimum 2 years of Residential Design & Drafting Experience Required.
• 5 years with current residential construction methods and framing assemblies.
• Commercial building & design experience is preferred but not required.
• Thorough understanding of current residential building codes.
• 5 years of software-based drafting experience.
• Ability to compile complete drawings for residential home permit submittal.
• Strong communication skills.
• Must be well-organized, enjoy multitasking, and have strong customer service skills.
• Residential construction experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
• Computer proficiency required.
  
  

Responsibilities of the Position:

• Work with sales team and customers to Design & Draft Plans for New Homes, Additions and Remodeling plans to fit a customer's needs.
• Manages and reviews all projects.
• Creates designs from rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data.
• Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
• Drafts detailed construction drawings and installations such as walls, roofs, floors, etc.
• Assist in modifying multiple sets of plans at any given time.
• Jobsite visits for verification purposes on potential or existing projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  
  

Pay Rate: $45,000 /- depending on experience.
