Staffing Branch Manager Leader

The HR Chicks
Indianapolis, IN Full Time
POSTED ON 5/31/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 6/29/2026

Our client is a growing staffing firm built on the belief that people are the business. We do not just

fill seats. We match the right people to the right environments, and we build relationships that last

on both sides of the placement.

Our Branch Manager is the person who makes all of that possible

at the branch level. We are not looking for a sales manager who also manages people. We are looking for an operator and a people leader who understands light industrial staffing from the inside out — the pace, the clients, the workforce, and what it actually takes to keep a branch running well.

When your recruiters are set up for success and your clients feel genuinely supported, the business results

follow.

THE ROLE IN PLAIN TERMS

You will own the day-to-day operations of your branch. That means your recruiters have what they

need to fill orders efficiently and well, your clients trust that our client delivers on its commitments, and your team is developing, engaged, and proud of the work they do.

You will also carry P&L responsibility for your branch and contribute to business development, but those outcomes are the result of building something operationally strong, not the starting point.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Operations and Team Leadership (This Is the Core of the Role)

• Build and maintain the operational systems that allow your recruiting team to source, screen, place, and retain talent efficiently and with consistency.

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of recruiters and onsite coordinators. You know the

difference between managing and developing, and you practice the latter.

• Create a branch culture where accountability is clear, feedback flows in both directions, and

people feel invested in the outcomes they are driving.

• Identify gaps in recruiter performance early and address them directly, with coaching first and

clarity always.

• Ensure full compliance with all operational policies, employment law, and industry regulations. You protect the branch and the people in it.

• Monitor key operational metrics including fill rates, time-to-fill, retention, and order coverage, and take action when the numbers are telling you something.

• Oversee onsite coordinators and ensure client sites are staffed, supported, and running

smoothly.

Client Retention and Relationship Management

• Serve as a trusted partner to existing clients, not just a vendor. You know their business, anticipate their needs, and solve problems before they escalate.

• Conduct regular client check-ins and business reviews to ensure satisfaction and uncover

opportunities to deepen the relationship.

• Respond to service issues with urgency and ownership. When something goes wrong, clients

hear from you first.

• Collaborate with your team to ensure every placement reflects the quality standard our client

is known for. Business Development (Complementary to Operations, Not Competing With It)

• Expand the branch's footprint by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within

your market.

• Attend community and networking events to build relationships and represent our client

authentically in your market.

• Partner with the Regional Manager on strategic sales campaigns and market growth

initiatives.

• Leverage your operational credibility with prospects. The best pitch you have is a branch that

runs well and clients who will say so.

Financial Oversight

• Own the P&L for your branch and actively manage expenses to protect profitability.

• Participate in annual business planning and contribute to branch revenue and gross profit

targets.

• Maximize billable hours through smart operational execution and strong client relationships.

• Report on financial performance to the Regional Manager with transparency and

accountability.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Direct experience in light industrial staffing is required. You understand this workforce, these clients, and the operational rhythm of this market. This is not a role where you

learn the industry on the job.

• Three or more years of leadership or management experience in light industrial staffing. Direct experience in this space is required. You understand the workforce, the clients, the

pace, and what it takes to keep a branch running well in this environment.

• Proven ability to build, coach, and retain a team. You have developed people who went on to

do great things and you take pride in that.

• Operational instincts. You know how to build structure, identify inefficiencies, and create

processes that scale without killing culture.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. You read people well, you listen before you

talk, and you know how to have hard conversations with care.

• Experience managing P&L or carrying financial accountability for a branch, location, or

territory.

• A calm, grounded presence under pressure. This environment moves fast and the people

around you will look to you to set the tone.

• Business development experience or comfort. You do not need to be a natural salesperson, but you need to be comfortable building relationships and asking for business.

• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to client sites and community events as

needed.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort learning new platforms and tools.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE HERE

• Your recruiters know what is expected of them, feel supported, and are hitting their metrics.

• Your clients renew, expand, and refer others because they trust the relationship.

• Your branch is profitable, compliant, and operationally consistent.

• You are developing the next generation of talent within your team.

• The CEO hears good things about your branch without having to ask.
