What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Receptionist Float position at The Howard Center for Women's Health?
The Howard Center is seeking a professional, friendly, highly motivated Front Desk Receptionist Float to join our team. This position will be based at our Covington location and will also provide front desk coverage at our Athens, Lawrenceville, and Decatur locations as needed.
As the first point of contact for our patients, the Front Desk Receptionist plays an important role in creating a welcoming patient experience while helping ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our busy GYN practice.
The ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing, dependable, organized, and able to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment. Strong multitasking and customer service skills are essential.
Travel Requirement: This position is based in Covington but requires travel to our Athens, Lawrenceville, and Decatur offices when coverage is needed. Candidates must be willing and able to travel between these locations.
Training Requirement: A minimum of two weeks of initial training is required at our main office in Tifton, Georgia.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a warm, professional, and friendly manner.
- Answer and manage multiple telephone lines.
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain appointment calendars.
- Check patients in and out efficiently.
- Verify patient and insurance information and collect required documentation.
- Assist with patient registration and accurately update patient information in the computer system.
- Send and receive medical records.
- Perform data entry accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain an organized and professional front desk and reception area.
- Assist with office supply inventory and ordering as needed.
- Provide front desk coverage at our Athens, Lawrenceville, and Decatur offices when needed.
- Work collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and other members of the office team.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office is preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, professional, and positive demeanor.
- Strong computer literacy and ability to learn scheduling and medical office software.
- Ability to manage multiple telephone lines and competing priorities.
- Strong typing and data-entry skills with excellent attention to accuracy.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain professional and positive in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Must be willing and able to travel to Athens, Lawrenceville, and Decatur when coverage is needed.
- Must be able to complete a minimum of two weeks of training in Tifton, Georgia.
Schedule
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or until the last patient leaves.
No weekends or holidays!
