What are the responsibilities and job description for the TRANSPORTATION WORKER - FC position at The House of the Good Shepherd?
This not a Full-time position
Hours would be Monday-Friday, 2pm-6-6:30pm
Basic Function/Overall Responsibilities: To provide safe transportation and support for clients and families within the foster care system. Types of trips include, but are not limited to, transport for medical, educational, clinical and visitation.
Principal Assigned Responsibilities:
- Transport clients and families to appointments related to/from medical, educational, clerical and visitation appointments.
- Collect provider notes, make necessary copies to give to providers and nurses.
- Provide appropriate supervision to youth based on age and identified treatment needs.
- Complete all required agency trainings.
- Other tasks as requested by supervisor.
Relationships-Supervision and Coordination: The Transportation Worker functions under the immediate supervision of the Visitation & Operations Supervisor. Communicates effectively with other agency staff, and individuals under their care while transporting or completing home visits. Maintain a positive and professional rapport while interacting with agency staff and while representing the agency out in the community.
Education and Experience Requirements:
1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Experience working with children who have behavioral and/or mental health issues preferred.
3. Must have a valid and clean New York State driver's license and at least 2 years of driving experience.
