Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse the Unit Secretary coordinates selected patient activities between the nursing unit and other internal departments, maintains and organizes patient medical records and nursing unit activity files, transcribes medical orders and orders and maintains equipment and supplies.
Qualifications
Education Requirements
High School Diploma/GED preferred.
Minimum Requirements
1-2 years of previous secretarial/clerical experience required,
Excellent communication skills required.
PC skills and knowledge of medical terminology required.
Ability to work under pressure and deadlines and balance multiple priorities required.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous Unit or Medical Secretary experience preferred.
