Position Summary

The HOPE Program is seeking a Crew Supervisor who will provide instruction, manage, and supervise crew members as they engage in (contracted) work projects in green construction, building operations and maintenance, and horticulture under The HOPE Program’s Social Enterprise. The position reports to the Assistant Director - Sustainability and Social Enterprise Initiatives. The Crew Supervisor is expected to work a minimum of four days from the office across all HOPE and partner locations and work schedule will include evening and weekend hours.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver workforce development program curriculum, aligning lessons with other components of training, and assisting with facilitation and classroom based instruction
  • Supervise trainees during off-site on the job training activities for contracted work engagements and other work projects..
  • Support the Assistant Director - Sustainability and Social Enterprise Initiatives in coordinating with clients, internal and external partners, ensure all documentation is in order including insurance certificates and contracts and on-boarding and hiring trainees, including the processing of employment documentation.
  • Track and process participants payroll.
  • Provide formal essential employability skills training and on-going coaching to ensure participants are positioned for successful permanent employment, aligning lessons and certification training with other components of training.
  • Operate a van to deliver tools and materials to work sites.
  • Enter all required data into the Salesforce database and document activities in a timely manner to include case notes on trainee progress and observations, up to date participant contact information, demographic, and other  profile data, and work project updates on progress and completion.
  • Participate in case conferencing with other employment and program staff
  • Document trainee feedback and testimonials.
  • Present to stakeholder groups and represent the program and organization at meetings or events as necessary, including sharing industry best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

The following are the ideal qualifications for this position. A successful candidate will possess a compelling combination of strengths in some areas and the self-awareness to identify areas where they are eager to learn and grow.

  • Experience facilitating presentations and workshops, preferred experience with facilitating employability skills training with adults 18
  • At least two years of experience in supervising a team of dedicated crew members.
  • Willingness to work or experience working with people of different cultures and backgrounds (justice involved, housing insecurity, substance use, etc)
  • Experience in project management is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to support clients in meeting their personal goals (this position is measured against placement rate).
  • Valid CDL (Class A or B as required by the vehicle type)
  • Clean driving record
  • Knowledge of DOT safety and compliance rules
  • Experience with vehicle/equipment operation
  • Strong customer service mindset and ability to build rapport with a wide range of trainees and practice client-centered coaching techniques.
  • Must be a strong team player who works well independently.
  • Problem solver, flexible and adaptable.
  • Excellent oral and written organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience documenting interactions with clients within a 48 hour period and using a CRM (HOPE uses Salesforce).
  • Google Suite, Zoom and Internet research proficiency.

 

Work Environment

  • This is a hybrid position working at least 4 days per week at HOPE and partner locations and work schedule will include evening and weekend hours.
  • This role will support supervision during work engagements that can take place at various worksites including outdoor locations during a variety of seasons and weather conditions.
  • Work hours for this position may be subject to change based on organizational needs. Employees may be required to adjust their schedules, including working outside of standard business hours, as necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
  • Employees serve as ambassadors of The HOPE Program and may be called upon to represent the organization at community events, partner meetings, public forums, and other external engagements, helping to advance our mission and strengthen relationships with stakeholders, including employers and community partners.

 

Salary and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $55,000 to $70,000 and is dependent upon experience. HOPE provides a full package of benefits including healthcare, vision and dental insurance, retirement plan, competitive vacation (plus half-day Fridays during July and August), and 12 paid holidays.
