What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Plumber position at The Honest Plumber?
About us
The Honest Plumber is growing fast across Michigan, and we're planning a major expansion in the Tri-City area (Bay City, Midland, and Saginaw). We bring in steady residential service calls, and we're looking for licensed plumbers who want a full schedule without the headache of finding their own customers.
What we provide
- A steady flow of booked plumbing jobs in Bay City, Midland, and Saginaw
- Your own personal dispatch associate who books and coordinates your jobs
- A shared calendar web app so you can see your schedule at a glance
- Tools to make invoices and accept payment on the spot
- The resources and support you need to run your day efficiently
- Control of your schedule: you set the jobs you take and when you take them
What you can expect
Our full-time plumbers earn six figures a year, while working fewer hours than they did at hourly, on-call jobs
Pay
- You keep 70% of labor on jobs with $200 or less in labor
- You keep 60% of labor on jobs with more than $200 in labor
- Trip charges are yours: if the job doesn't close, you keep the full $60 trip charge ($120 on weekends), with no split
- Materials are billed to the customer and aren't part of the labor split
Requirements
- A valid plumbing license
- 3 years of plumbing experience preferred
- Your own vehicle or van, tools, and basic materials (we don't supply these)
- Professional, honest, and great with customers
- Reliable communication with your dispatch associate
Nice to have
- The ability to snake main drains with your own machine. It's a plus, but not a deal-breaker: you can add it later.
