The Honest Plumber is looking for an experienced, licensed plumber to work as an independent contractor serving Owosso, MI and surrounding areas.
We will provide you with the customer calls. They will call you directly and you can book them into your schedule. You provide the plumbing expertise, tools, and professional service.
To come out to do the job, you let the customer calling know that it's a $60 trip and diagnostic charge. If they move forward with the service, the $60 is waived and you move forward with the agreed upon price.
If they decline, you collect the $60 for yourself. If they accept, you do the job, keep track of material costs and you would keep a split of 65% for the labor. 35% of the labor goes to us.
What You'll Do
- Receive plumbing leads and customer calls directly to your phone
- Diagnose plumbing issues and provide on-site estimates
- Complete residential plumbing repairs and service calls
- Handle customer communication from start to finish
- Collect payment directly from customers
- Purchase necessary materials and maintain receipts
- Provide professional, honest, and reliable service
- Keep your phone reasonably accessible and respond promptly to incoming leads

Compensation
Contractor keeps 65% of labor revenue on every job.
The Honest Plumber retains 35% of labor revenue for providing customer acquisition, lead generation, and business infrastructure. Material costs are separate from the labor split when properly documented.
You are responsible for collecting payment from the customer. We recommend Square, but cash, Cash App, Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, and other payment methods may also be used.

Customers Requirements
- Valid plumbing license as required for the work you perform
- Relevant residential plumbing experience
- Own plumbing tools and equipment
- Ability to diagnose problems and provide accurate estimates
- Professional appearance and customer service
- Reliable phone and ability to answer/respond to leads promptly
- Ability to collect customer payments
- Must be comfortable operating as an independent contractor
- Must be able to service Owosso and surrounding areas
Communication
Customer calls are routed directly to you. These calls are recorded.
If you are busy and cannot take a lead, you are expected to communicate with the customer appropriately and notify us so the lead can be reassigned.
