What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teller position at The Honesdale National Bank?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for operating a full-service teller station to receive and process a variety of customer transactions, preparing and maintaining various reports and records, promoting institutional services. May be asked to help assist various locations if needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, ETC.
A high school diploma or equivalent, previous customer relations and cash handling experience desired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
In addition to conducting business in an office environment, the Teller must be able to reach, bend, stand, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Accept deposits, make withdrawals and cash checks;
- Process loan payments;
- Provide additional customer service including cashier's checks, personal money orders, savings bonds, certified checks, credit card payments, cash advances, and provide client’s to access safe deposit boxes;
- Balance cash drawer and ATM;
- Process items for collection;
- Open night deposit, record night deposit bags;
- Wrap coin;
- Process various business' payments and provide reporting to them, i.e. Christmas Club payments;
- Maintain control of cash drawer;
- Make concentrated effort to solve customer problems;
- Answer telephones to assist bank clients and prospects with servicing conforming to the Customer Service Standards;
- Cross train as a Customer Service Representative to assist with opening new accounts as needed;
- Assist customers with balancing their accounts;
- Process check orders for clients;
- Complete CTRs and the Monetary Instruments Log as required;
- Promote the bank's services and cross-sell bank products;
- Assist in ensuring the teller procedural manual is kept current and utilize as a resource;
- Make recommendations to supervisor about possible methods to improve the department;
- Participate in community affairs to increase the bank's visibility and to enhance new business opportunities;
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed.
